Our art team set out to capture the fascination that many children have for flight and came up with the theme “Inspired to fly.” The layout makes use of both cross directional interplay, with the path of the kite and paper airplane, and available surface space, with the soaring eagle breaking the linear plane. The scene incorporates the mountains overlooking the campus that gave Mountain View School its name. The mural faces the interior of the school, and the students got to observe the work in progress. The project took three weeks to complete.
